How to make lemon oil

Wash and clean all pesticides off if you bought lemons at a store. If you are lucky enough to grow or have a friend with lemons wash dirt off with cold water. and then dry them.

After they have dried peel them with a potato peeler just the yellow peel not the white pith. Make a double boiler with a glass bowl on top of soup pot full of water.

Add 1 cup of lemon peels and 1 cup of your favorite unscented oil. I use sunflower oil, but you can use olive or coconut as well. Then simmer the water on low for 2-3 hours the oil should just be warmed not hot. when done, strain the peels and compost or dehydrate in your dehydrator.
